I’m an artist based in Brighton UK, mainly specializing in ceramics.
I studied mixed media fine art for six years in London, where I explored different mediums and worked as an artist assistant, learning the ins and outs of what it means to work as an artist. I started to experiment with clay towards the end of my studies in 2017 and from there it was love. Clay is the perfect material for me to express myself, it’s earthy, alive and has memory. It became even easier to connect to the subtle mysteries I feel whispered through nature and to communicate the meaning of my practice, which is an exploration, an expression of gratitude and a connection I feel to life and energy.
I mainly make vessels which are my bodyscapes. They have bones, curves and resemble feminine and masculine energies. They are our bodies embedded in the earth, a depiction of where we’ve come from, where it all started and what we’re still apart of.
As well as sculptural artworks, I also make functional objects such as plates and bowls. I glaze these functional objects with colours and textures I find in nature. With these, I aim to bring a touch of nature into peoples homes and as pieces to act as a reminder that nature is a miracle and we a part of that miracle.
Every piece is hand built using pinch pot an coiling techniques. Each and every piece is unplanned, I let my intuition and flow takeover, and produce whatever feels right in the moment.
